PACIFIC SOUTHWEST CUP

D A T  E
2007 Labor Day Weekend -- September 1, 2 and 3, 2007

We are very excited in hosting the Inaugural Season of Pacific Southwest Cup. This exciting event comes after the successful  2-day Team Event between four teams, Arizona, San Diego Junior Golf, Future Champions and California Kids Golf Tour at Woods Valley Golf Club at Valley Center, California on March 3-4, 2007.  Now we are extending an extraordinary opportunity to have more teams from other states in the Pacific Southwest region to participate in this event.

This idea of bringing us together this year was spur of the moment.   A big event as this is usually planned one year in advance.  After Future Champions hosted the San Diego Cup in April, CKG Tour planned to host a Southern California team event.   But our involvement with Worth Youth Team Challenge inspired us to form a Pacific Southwest team competition.  With little time that we have, your responses and your interests have been overwhelming.  We now have six teams:  1) Texas; 2) Nevada; 3) San Diego Junior Golf; 4) Future Champions; 5) Northern California;  6) CKG Tour.  If team Mexico and team Hawaii decide to join us, we will have eight teams. **

The format will be Blind Draw team match play.  Players will play a different team each day.  The formats are Same Age Group Four-ball Matches (Best Ball) and Same Age Group Foursomes Matches (Alternate Shot).  Each player will play from age appropriate tees. The team with the most points shall be declared the winner.

It is our goal that the Southwest Region will keep this going and different teams will take turn in hosting the event.    Arizona Team has already offered to host the 2008 event.  And Texas Team has offered to host the 2009 event.

This is very exciting for junior golfers.  Not only that they get to experience playing golf competitively in a team setting but they will experience to be exposed to different regions and help them learn to adjust with different situations.  This experience will make them become stronger and more skilled golfers and help them achieve their future goals.  And more importantly, they will establish relationships that will last a lifetime.

**Due to the short time frame, 2007 Pacific Southwest Cup settled with six teams.
